Fall Mantel

A few years ago when we were looking to purchase our home, I knew one thing I wanted most was a distinct fireplace. I wanted a place where we could gather with friends and family and that would become the focal point of our living room.

Fast forward several months and we had now purchased a home that needed a lot of work. Even though we weren’t too keen on the idea of renovations to start, I’m so happy we did because this allowed us to put our own touch on pretty much the entire renovation.

As our mantel is now the focal point of our living room (thanks to much needed renovations) I love being able to display and decorate each upcoming holiday. There is much anticipation around our house at the start of every season. Obviously for several reasons, one being that we love the idea of decorating our mantel.

Since our living room is where we hang out with guests and sip cocktails, I want our guests to feel at home. I mean, there is nothing worse than going somewhere that is cold and uninviting – am I right? Anyways, I have these candle holders which I display year only and just swap out the candles. Also, this topiary rotates between our mantel and a few other places.

I’ve added burlap, leaves, acorns, and pumpkins which encompasses the elements of fall. I also swap our throw pillows on our living room chairs to match our mantel. By doing this, I find it ties the room together and creates the perfect balance.

What are some of your places to decorate for each season? Would love to hear about them!
